Summer Fashion 2011 – The New Fauvism

Matisse

Fauvism & 2011 Summer Fashion

As we’ve already seen, the label mark of 2011 summer fashion trends are the strong, shameless colors. Clothes are covered with drastic red, pink, blue, green, orange, etc. But what about the rest of the outfits? There is a very important aspect. Do you remember what happened with the fauvists? They’ve used a lot of colors, but in order to balance these colors, the drawing line was simple and precise.  This is exactly what is happening with 2011 summer trends. The final cuts are simple, unambiguous and sharp. This is a straight to the point fashion.

Maybe this is a bizarre statement, but 2011 summer fashion is a come back of fauvists and we can clearly see how Prabal Gurung or Gimbattista Valli approach to Henri Matisse.

Movies about fashion

Pret a Porter

A good way to find out how women perceive fashion, how it affects their life and,  how you should behave in order to be in fashion  is to look at films about fashion. Not to say that it’s a very pleasant way to relax and learn at the same time.

We have selected a few films useful for women interested in fashion:

GIA

Is there anyone which does not like to take delight of the face of Angelina Jolie? Especially when she plays a famous model, Gia, and her tragic story in the fashion world.

Pret-a-Porter

This time we have Julia Roberts. What is interesting is that this film is inspired from real life. The ending is downright phenomenal, and yes, even there in the fashion world such a denouement!

The Devil Wears Prada

Beautiful women, a lot of  Prada, fashion magazines, fashion shows, intrigue, a little anorexia, a little love story and humor!

Coco Chanel

Do you like Chanel? Find out what the story is about. The film is very beautiful from every point of view!
